I have recently applied for the World class lottery funding and the rules state that you must get your first application in before the end of your 30th year. I turned 31 at the end of Feb So i made sure i got my application in well before that day so i was abiding by the rules etc.....well today i recieved a phone call to say that i am infact too old now to be able to do it even though i got my application in when i was eligible and if i did then they would be very harsh at the judging day as i am now too old and should be at an exceptional international standard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im a bit gutted to be honest as i have brought my horse on and trained up from just broken to now Grand prix and it seems to all be a bit ageist to get some form of financial help and recognition!! I have done it all on a shoe string and so proud of what we have achieved and hope to have a succesful season but now im 31 then i am clearly past it!!!! None of this probably really makes sense but i just needed to have a little rant!!!!!! I wasn't even expecting to be accepted onto the programme as there are so many amazing combinations out there but its just the fact that im a month too old....where is the justification for the cut off!!!! Rant over and i now feel much better!!!
