I have problems with my shoulders which are particularly bad at the moment since I have had to start mucking out two stables a day again after work (how I love summer and 24/7 turnout!) Its all to do with the vertebra between my shoulder blades going out of alignment and trapping muscles/nerves

Well my right shoulder has got progressively worse over the last week and I hate it. Had two dressage lessons over the weekend and I really struggled maintaining the outside rein contact on the left rein because my right shoulder locks and I can't move my arm much.

Well today it was at its worst, almost couldn't feel my arm with the movement very limited.

Fleur was being very good to me but I just couldn't work her properly round on the left as I couldn't take any contact in my right rein as my arm was rigid. Had to cut session short as otherwise would start getting a very one sided horse

Thankfully have a chiro appointment tomorrow which should help but I think it will take a few appointments to sort.

Anyone fancy getting me a new spine as bottom half is a problem as is the top, its just at the moment only shoulder area is outweighing my sacroiliac joint issues!

rant over well hopefully tomorrow it will be (for now) and I will be able to feel like I can ride again!

So depressing when injuries make you feel like you can't ride. My left knee has never been the same since I cracked it a couple of years ago and it makes it so difficult getting a horse around my left leg. Fingers crossed the chiro will sort you out tomorrow x

I'm sorry to hear you are 'crook'. Is it to do with your job - are you hunched over a computer at work? I hope the chiro sorts you out and that you can enjoy your riding agin soon.

Some of it is to do with job but have exercises to help, most of it is from various falls over the years in particular one where I fell heavily flat on my back but landed marginally on right first and then I ignored it for two weeks which has caused on going issues

.

Shoulder has been fine through the summer but since horses have been in again over night it just isn't coping. I'm just thankful I have a good chiro who sorts me out!

Summer will be back round quicker than you think.

Santa Claus, I thought you had elves and things who could help and muck out the reindeer?

they have gone on strike as apparently shillings, tuppence and eternal happiness is not sufficient by way of wages

Thanks guys for various Chiro/osteo/physio recommendations here and by PM. my Chiro is very very good though and I have tried a few! would help if I saw her more often if I do (tend to wait till there is an issue! *slaps her wrists* ) but the amount of people who go to here just via word of mouth is testament to the results. I think almost everyone from the yard goes to her now! LOL

Yes I think you will find it could take a series of appointments to sort things out as they will have to re-train muscles and ligaments to do what they should be doing instead of pulling your spine in the wrong way!
I know how you feel as I have just started back riding (3 days a week at walk only) having spent nearly 6 months this year in varying degrees of pain in my lower back. This came on rather suddenly and even now I am not sure what I did to cause it!!! I keep a chart of pain free days when I have not been able to 'feel' soreness or pain and am up to 5 days now! So quite pleased really!
