Feeling of impending doom

I'm at a friend's house for our annual badders weekend... Out of nowhere I just had a really bad feeling about my horses! I'm not normally the type to worry about that sort of thing, but they've just been moved into a new field and were a little unsettled. And I can't get hold of my friend who owns the field to ask her to go check on them.

Now I'm getting paranoid that there's something wrong! My rational side is convinced that if I go back there will be nothing wrong (and it'll be dark and ill miss the badders sj tomorrow cause my tv's broke and its too far and too expensive to come back again).

My hitherto non-existent doom feeling side is giving me the heebie jeebies, though!

So, should I go back or force doom feeling side to be rational??

If there was something wrong surely your friend would call you ?
Is there nobody else could do a drive by to make sure theyre ok.
Id like to reassure you but with feelings like that i think theyre better explored further, i try not to ignore my gut, as it usually is right

Something could have happened after friend checked them, though, or she may have randomly decided to go out or phone died... There's no one else within a reasonable distance who could check on them :(.

Never had a gut feeling that wasn't based on evidence before... Don't know if mine are usually right or not!

Hmm I don't necessarily agree with the above. Think rationally about how unlikely it is that you will get there and something will be wrong. Keep trying your friend for piece of mind but try not to panic. Have you had a drink this afternoon? I only ask as if I'm even a teeny but hungover sometimes it gives me that anxious feeling where I am able to fear the worst.

I used to suffer with panic attacks, especially when away from home (still do sometimes), and that phrase 'Feeling of impending doom' pretty much sums up how they made me feel. No rational reasoning, but I have so far never come home to find that the doom I was dreading had struck :o

In the end I went with my rational side. I think I was just very freaked out by the weirdness of the feeling. Got hold of friend - she was out but went to check them when she got back.

They're both fine! Though they don't seem at all happy about being moved there, which is odd - the field's bigger and has more grass! Looks like they haven't moved far from the fence line the entire time. Maybe they were sending me complaining vibes, lol!

Glad to hear all was well and that you didn't miss your weekend away.

Thanks :). Some sheep had gotten into the field, which probably = impending doom to the spooky 5yo!

Very glad I didn't miss the badders sj - what a shocker!
