I'm still fairly new on this forum, although i have been one of those aweful HHO's that lurks in the background reading the posts a lot! (i think i'm addicted to be honest!) but have recently started posting a bit more. so hi my name is chestnutgeegee and i'm addicted to HHO...

Dont know if you've seen my recent posts, but i found out this week that my loan horse is going to be sold (i dont want to buy him as he's just not the horse for me - although he is lovely) i had agreed with his owner i would extend my loan etc etc and have just paid out quite a bit of money to sort his teeth out get his vaccinations up to date and so on. but now it looks like i could be without a horse and fairly soon. i've spent the whole day trawling through the internet trying to find another loan - every single one i've phoned about is no longer avliable. i know its only been a couple of days and other people have been looking for much longer but i feel really rubbish - dont think it helps that i'm a month away from the 1 year aniversary of having my old 'horse of a lifetime' put to sleep and i'm still pathetically over emotional about loosing her!!

Cookies hot chocolate and/or glass of wine to whoever made it this far! sorry for sounding so pathetic and lumbering you with all of this, but the OH just doesnt seem to understand!

.

I would suggest you approach the owners about getting some contribution to what you've paid out.

So sorry about your horse. It's cr*p. Hugs.

Purchase not an option? Must be lots of good value horses out there looking for a good home - once he is yours, he is that for life!

hi both
looking for something minimum of 16hh (i'm 5'10" and a bit) sex not bothered age somewhere between 6 and 16 and a general all-rounder - i'd just like something i can do local competition (currently riding at novice level in dressage) i used to jump a lot (and loved it) but would need something that could get me back jumping confidently again, safe to hack and just something i can have fun with. and i'm in the leicestershire area. i have a stable on a fantastic yard and 21 and a bit years of experience riding, owning & loaning.

Going to speak to owner about contribution - just a difficult subject to broach... we get on really well
Mrs M consider hot choccy and cookie delivered!

I quite agree that you are entitled to ask for some money back with regard to your recent costs, although don't be too hopeful of seeing it as some people are quite unreasonable

Where abouts in the country are you and how far are you happy to travel to look at horses?

yep i agree too, i will ask, the owner is very lovely, i'm sure she'll make some contributions if is ask (although i will definitely need to ask, definitely wont happen automatically!)

I'm in leicestershire, and i'll travel anywhere in the east or west midlands and beyond if the horse was right i suppose - i dont really know...

Sometimes i wonder why i continue to stress myself out and have horses - but i do - must be mad!
