Feeling sorry for myself. Got booted in the pelvis

Yup, Saturday was booted straight where any respecting young lady shouldn't be and now my nether regions resemble a baboons bottom but back to front.

Wasn't intentional. Part of my job to get in the firiing line at times but didn't quite expect it to hurt so much.

So feeling sorry for myself today and wondering how big this bruise is actually going to get. Taking Arnica and Ibuprofen 600mg. But me thinks if doesn't start to stop pulsating may need a trip to docs.

Totally pointless I know but needed to share my pain
 
Owwwww....... I'm not suprised you are sore. To be honest I think I'd be heading off to see someone today as it might be worth having it xrayed to check nothing is cracked and to get stronger pain relief!!

i remember when my horse did this when he was a youngster WITH shoes on! honestly i know how you feel! the pain made me want to vomit :-( hope your flower gets better soon :-) try a warm hot water bottle in a pillow case, obvs not too hot :-o but i really hope you get better soon. just a thought, do you think its wise to see a doctor incase the horse hit any vital baby making tubes? sorry for being blunt. {hugs}
 
I got booted there last year while clipping, it shot me 6 ft across the barn and it hurt like hell :( I had to go to hospital which wasn't too embarrasing (but only cos they know me) and was on crutches for a week, still have a lump where the foot connected. Hope you feel better soon

Yes I went a fair distance also, wouldn't of been so bad if the horse had been barefoot but nice thick shoes right on my lady bits and the other leg on my thigh.

Oouch hope I don't end up with a permanent lump.
 
Ouch, definitely go to hospital and get it all checked. I got kicked in the pelvis just a few weeks after buying my first horse. Finished mucking out, did the water and the hay then felt a bit funny so got OH to take me to A&E. Got kept in for four days with internal bleeding.

Hope you feel better soon.

No I know how stupid I am not going as yet. I just don't think I can face being told there may be something wrong. Have so much other stuff going on. Young horse which isn't too well at the moment I am trying to care for as well as other stuff (not to bore you) I am almost frightened incase it is bad news.

I am on my own you see and there is no one to do my work/horses etc. But I promise I will by tomorrow if still as painful.

I know none of the above are good enough reasons to not look after myself but sometimes it is the only coping mechanism I have is to not think too much about it.

So I do understand the potential seriousness.
 
I'm sorry that you've got other stuff going on hun but please look after yourself too, pls go tomorrow if you're still not right xx
 
OUCH! I feel your pain. And yes, the bruise will go all the colours of the rainbow.

When I was a kid I was balancing... and fell, legs either side of a very thin metal bar... my feet didn't touch the ground! OMG! The pain! The bruising was so bad my mum was petrified my teachers were going to notice when I was getting changed for PE and report them for abuse!!

I was double barrelled last summer and one foot got me in my stomach and the other 'there.'

hurt like hell and I still have 2 hoof shaped marks which are discoloured- there go my plans of being a bikini model! ;)

Lots of ice and arnica, mine took a good 10 days before it wasn't so ridiculously painful.
 
Yowch, that made my eyes water ... definitely get it checked out. I didn't get kicked, but my horse shoved me into a field gate and the bolt hit me there, it was some bruise, and it hurt like nothing on earth!
 
Oh the pain, as my old tbh a week before we had him pts, was having trouble with small flies around his penis, had the same trouble 2 years before, when I found small maggots, he was kicking at his belly, asked my OH to hold him, while I checked, next thing both barrels in my stomach, I went down as poleaxed and my OH just stood there, well get up it cann't have been that bad, I think that was nearest I've come to divorceing him:mad::mad::mad: and a day later my stomach was a large very black patch, luckerly the old horse didn't have shoes on:):)
 
Went to the hospital this morning as the pain was so bad and couldn't stand it. Even the tears were flowing today and that has to be bad for me.

They xrayed my pelvis and said they cannot see any breaks at the moment, there is some suspect deep bone bruising on my right pelvic symphysis. So need to see how it goes. But to take it easy and lots of pain relief over the next week

They were pretty impressed with the bruising and in particular the postioning of it!

Just wondering when may be ok to ride, but I will take it easy for a few days

You done the right thing by going to get checked out, poor you! i was kicked by my mams horse when i was younger (about 11) it was right above my pubic bone i had some lovely bruising for afew weeks :)

i'm just glad it wasn't a shire! :o :0 :)
 
ouch poor you

as for riding DO listen to your body, if it hurts on the ground it will be even worse in the saddle. I bet you are looking at 2 or 3 wks before it feels ok to ride

I got kicked in my groin by my old horse when I was taking his rug off, (turns out he had issues with rugs) one of the strap tangs must of got caught on his foot as he booted me as I got kicked and stabbed at the same time! That hurt like nothing I had felt before. Couldn't walk for two weeks.
 
go to a and e!!!... ouch!!!:o

My horse launched me accross the yard when i tried to pick her feet out the first week i had her....that hurt like hell but i was lucky
