Hi All,

I wondered if you could give me some tips, when i ride my horse i feel quite un-even in the stirrup length, Sometimes no matter what i do i feel as though it is always the inside leg longer, which leads me to believe i am collapsing one side.

It might be worth a side mention about 6 weeks ago i had my hips put back in place and there was .5 inch difference in my leg length and whilst this made a little difference i just can't crack 'feeling correct' on him.
Currently an instructor isn't possible unfortunately.

So yeah, any tips on what to do or what would help would be great!

I had this feeling after tearing my ACL. the only thing that helped me was going to a physio who used an equiciser (sp) machine which gave you immediate feedback. Based in Manchester, don't know where you are but would recommend this if you can find one by you.

Some people lean into the inside as a natural reaction, this might explain why it's always the inside leg.

I always lean right - partly me, partly horse, so both of us together = wonky spider! Building up your core strength and balance will help, I have noticed a huge difference since starting to do Pilates.
Also worth noting that if you've been unlevel for a while, sitting correctly actually feels more wrong because you're not used to it - eyes on the ground are invaluable for this.

Agree with this, (and with earlier post about leathers stretching). But if you haven't got eyes on the ground, and can't afford mirrors for the school, you could always get one of those long mirrors (often cheap in second hand shops) and occasionally prop it at a useful spot in the school and see if you really are leaning as you come round a curve.
