I know exactly how you feel although I shouldn't moan as only been looking 3 weeks but am so fed up as nothing to even go see! There are loads of 16hh horses for sale round here (yorkshire) at the minute (which when I'm looking for a cob/mw 15.1hh horse - that are usually in kent - it is a bit frustrating). How far would you travel to view? Maybe others could view on your behalf to make an initial assessment? I'll keep an eye out for you.

I know the first horse, used to keep my horse next door. It's a geldin, not a dressage horse and I think sold lol

Second isn't a direct link

there are some nice horses in the dressage section of horse quest...some slightly out of you price range but might be worth a speculative phonecall as some people might be open to offers given economic climate....
also, have you thought of trying a reputable dealer? they might be able to find the right horse for you if you let them know what it is you want- i found my baby through word of mouth (SJ trainer) and i think thats where the cheap but quality horses often go.....

Seen that and not keen lol

*maybe the reason I can't find a horse is that I'm too fussy?!*

really? i wish i could afford her! perhaps you should widen your expectations a little for viewing, you may b very suprised at what you fall in love with and feels right. dont dismiss everything straight away. I have been in same position, desperate for another horse, good budget, needed something before i completely missed the hunting season etc etc! I ended up after aaaaggggggggggeeess looking all over country, just going and viewing everything vaguely suitable in my area (within an hours drive) i set up 2 days of local appointments all of which i had sniffed at in ads and found my gelding (i was looking for a mare) within 24 hrs and left deposit subj to vet straight away. He was 15 mins away from me. Change tact and open your mind a little you may b pleasently suprised!

Which IMO is no bad thing

I spent over 15 months finding mine,

but I certainly found my horse of a lifetime

(aside from the fact 18 months along the line she needed surgery and after some box rest broke all the bones in my face

) but seriously, even that doesn't change how I feel about her.

I believe that the wait and being very specific and picky is a good thing long term - too many people get blinded and have money burning holes in their pockets. I know the search is tedious, but, as my mother always used to say to me whilst I went through this, "There's one out there with your name on it!!" And sure enough, I truly found my dream horse

Like Puppy's, my search took over a year (on and off!). If you take your time, you'll find the right one!

Don't worry about being too fussy. My friends used to hold their heads in their hands on my return from yet another viewing and say "what was wrong with that one it looked really nice in the pictures?!". Well, they weren't the person who was going to end up with it for the rest of their lives!

i don't understand why you aren't willing to travel? i knwo there is the possibility that you would have a wasted journey but then perfect horse might be at the other end of the country. i bought grey in my siggy from portsmouth (i'm in lancashire) and then when i sold him he went to gurernsey... i always ask people to send me a dvd/video of horse before i travel to see them....
