I am SO happy to report back that readers of this site have played their part in bring the FEI to book over HYPERFLEXION /ROLLKUR. AT LAST!!

FEI are already investingating and making statements their computer crashed on friday night!

I posted the thread DYING FOR HORSES last week highlighting video footage of Patrik Kittel riding Watermill Scandic in the world cup qualifiers in Odense - the video is called 'Blue Tongue world cup' and is posted on U tube.

The video was taken by EPONA TV - There is global outrage directed toward the FEI who continue to allow horses riding in conflict, behind the verticle (against the rules) in overtight nosebands etc.,

The power of Horse and Hound postees!

Thank you to everyone that posted on Dying for Dressage and in Competiton 'has anyone seen this video' and continued to post on the u tube site, BLUE TONGUE FACE BOOK and on other sites to raise awareness.

We have the power at our fingertips!! to change the face of dressage to what it once was - something beautiful between man and horse. To re-instate welfare as THE priority.

Horses like Totilas and others must be protected from abuse - extravagant leg movements etc., to please the media, sponsors and the clapping crowds... whilst the horse slowly is slowly Dying for Dressage... in front of our eyes..

I hope Watemill Scandic will get a new rider and his owners and sponsors take heed of public feeling, this horse a once proud stallion must not be ridden in learned helplessness, fear and pain.

Keep the pressure up gals and guys!

Excellent news

QR - That is fantastic news - I am so pleased that the authorities are finally starting to listen. I signed a petition recently, can't quite remember the name - phillipe karl possibly? - against the use of rolkur and hyperflexion in dressage.

I really hope that the tide is starting to turn and that in 10 years time people will look back on it as barbaric but I fear that it may just carry on behind closed doors.

Well done for highlighting that video and helping bring it to people's attention.

Has there been an official statement from the FEI yet?

I'm pleased the authorities are starting to take notice. Be interesting to see whether they take action against the other riders who use this practise as well.

That's great - now someone needs to look into what goes on in the showing world.........

Fantastic! Maybe this will have the same effect on the equestrian world as the expose of the Kennel Club/pedigree dog breeding had on the dog world recently?

This is wonderful news!! I could cry

We still need more people to sign philippe karl's petition on his website, I know many of you already have done, but there needs to be a lot more. Go to his website and there are copies of all the letters and all the changes he proposes, and the answers from the german Equestrian federation. They are arranging a meeting/demonstration for early 2010.

At last maybe something will be done to stop these b*****ds riding and abusing horses.

Fantastic news - through learning about this abuse on this forum i have informed many of my riding friends of its use and everyone of them has looked at the link and the "worried eyes" one and recoiled in horror.

My only fear is will it push the b@stards "underground" and we will just stop seeing it in the collecting rings of the events.
