WELL.

Seeing as my ODE was cancelled (luckily I think) I decided to make the over an hour journey to Felbridge as there was nothing on locally and I hadnt been out for a couple of weeks. I had not been there before and also didnt do my homework. Turned up and paid for the Disc and 1.05, trodged about a bit and noticed it was all on grass. Not a problem if you have a) stud holes and b) studs. Seeing as I doubted that we would be jumping on grass any more this season I haddent bothered to get any drilled out last shoeing. Wll, felt a prat but decided that as it was a flat surface we would be ok if I took it easy on the turns. Went into the dust bowl/mud bath warm up and we were slipping. My mare just refused to jump and wouldnt take her feet of the ground (quite wisely really) gave up after jumping a couple of forced jumps and decided to go in anyway and get her confidence back over the first fence and go from there. She was a very unhappy bunny. Refused the first (she NEVER stops) and the rest was horrible we were eliminated at the 5th fence. She hated every second of it and it felt awful. Went to try and get my money back for the 1.05 and they gave me a credit note (!) but as it was the last show of the season it'll have to wait until next season

I feel such an idiot and more than likely looked a bigger one, hopefully I can get her confidence back and not make the same mistake again

They normally leave a good covering of grass there, but the main ring is on quite a slope if you stop and look at it. The main ring warm-up is pretty poor too

Bo has never jumped well on the grass there with me...but then maybe that's my problem more than his lol! At least they gave you a credit note...they didn't have to
