We have just got a black and white cat from the cats rescue he was there for 3 months before we got him, he was a little wild. He has adjusted well and loves to be outside in the barns and fields and running around. I call him here there and everywhere, he is about 10 months old. He has this habit when I wear this very soft dressing gown he comes and sucks it and puddles with his paws this is usually first thing in the morning and if I do not get up early enough he comes and jumps on the bed saying I need my yum yums. Does anyone else have a cat that does this and do you think I should let him. I just wonder if all that sucking will not do him any good.

Every cat I have had/known does the peddle-paws thing. My old cat also sucked along with it. We didn't let her do it too often because whatever you were wearing ended up soaked (you would not think a cat's mouth would be so wet!). I don't think sucking causes them any harm though.

Interestingly, the sucky cat was one of two from the same litter - her sister never sucked at all, thought she did peddle a bit.
