I don't really have much experience of Sleddale ponies. The Greenholme ones I've known have had good temperaments and substance. I've been told that Lunesdale ponies are known for thier good movement generally. I rode mostly Drybarrows ponies which were mainly Heltondale descended as my friend used to break them in in the 1990s.
I have a Lunesdale, decent movement, very trainable although can be strong. But that's just her, I'm a Dales person rather than Fell so can't say much about the rest!

I had Greenholme Whirlwind and that described her perfectly, too quick for me but still lives a happy and active life with a younger person.
She was also not a chunky pony, but fearless xc and hunting
