Has anyone ever ridden with them?

I’ve just booked their half day hack for in a few weeks time and I’m so excited! It will be my first proper hack in about 20 years, not sure how well my backside will cope with 2 hours in the saddle but I’ve never ridden a fell before and they seem like a lovely way to ease myself back into longer rides.

I've not ridden with them but everyone who has comes back with glowing reports - Tom came over to N Yorks to do a talk for our bridleways group last year (which was excellent) and several people ended up riding with them as a result. I haven't met anyone yet who didn't enjoy it.

I had one as a child in the 90s, absolute dope on a rope on the yard, wild under saddle, in retrospect I suspect he was probably in pain ridden, but it was the 90s so he was just a cheeky pony.

My neighbour had one and I’m not sure she’s even broken her in, she’s a very quiet field ornament.

I have just got back from this hack and it was awesome!

I haven’t stopped smiling since and I’m already checking my calendar for when I can go back 😁

The pony I rode was called Pansy and she was so much fun. We had a few really good canters and she was furious when the gelding Tom was riding tried to overtake her 😂 She was looking over her stable door at me as I was driving away and she looked so sweet I wanted to take her with me.

Mines pretty good actually she's definitely an easy keeper but she gets a bit extra in the winter, she would be better on less good grass but so would a lot of horses, I don't find it a struggle and she's cheap to keep and tough. I only really rug her because she's part hippo and it makes my life easier
