Hi
how would you secure a energiser ,has we had 2 pinched last night, early hours of this moring, they where free standing and all the years ,Ive been on the field have never had one pinched,
We do have wooden posts,is there a way that i could attach it to that, sadly we dont have any mains electric and i need to get a energiser in the next couple of days.so any ideas of attaching one to a fence would be great, thank you.

If you have a handy OH with a grinder and welder you can get a gas bottle, have a flap cut and hinged, a hole for the earth at the bottom, hole for wire at top, put energiser and battery inside, padlock on the flap, its on the heavy side for a chance thief but you can also get those trailer hitchlock things that get cemented into ground to chain it to, or chain to fence post, but that could be cut off.

I had one of mine stolen a couple of years ago. I now have it fitted into a steel ammunition chest. The ammunition chest is then secured to the floor with two 'ground screws' which pass through the floor of the chest & then the chest is padlocked shut. The chest would have to be dug out to be stolen & that would take too much time & energy hopefully.

I had mine stolen too - but it appeared in a field in another local farm. So I "stole" it back.

Idiot came calling and threatened the police. Go ahead, I said, call them. Be delighted to talk to them, please ask them to bring their UV light. Guess what.....he never called the police

Can you put it somewhere les obvious perhaps? Or just make a big box and cement it in.

Oh dont, I had mine nicked the so did some other yards have break ins that night. The police found a car full of them but becasue my name was not on it I didnt get it bck!!!!!!!!!

NEw one has "stolen from (my postcode) soldered in on it. My dad has screwed it into my field and it has a chain on it as well, bottom line though if the scum really wants it they will have it.

I bought impact resistant tool boxs from B&Q, drilled holes through the side for switch and wires. Filled it with house bricks and left enough space for the enegiser. Padlocked it shut and chained it to a fence post. I have to take the bricks out if I want to move it.

It may not be theft proof but they will have to work hard to get it
