I finally saw it with my own eyes!

Thought yesterday my fence popping horse might enjoy going out for an hour while I mucked out. So turned him out, he had a lovely roll and then, just like that, high tailed it across the field and straight over the perimetre fence into the next field (circa 3ft)

So I grabbed his head collar and ran round to the next field, where upon seeing me, he jumped into the air, bucked, farted and cantered downhill, jumped the 5 bar gate, did some airs above ground in the bottom field and then jumped over the fence onto the gallop track, where he proceeded to excercise himself and make the little ponies in the adjoining paddock scream!

So, my YO and I are now in thoughts about creating him his own tiny grass paddock with ridiculous elephant/stallion/killer horse fencing. Until then I am going to try giving him every other day turnout in the pen and see if he'll stay in there! (not much run up to the bar then!)

So finally I witnessed hairy quiet elephant horse actually jumping the 5 bar gate, which only served one purpose - we're doing more jumping

well I have a gate jumper too...........but only gates ( Big five bar ones!!), single strand 3' electric fencing keeps him contained all day long...........weird!!

I have one that is retired with navicular - you tell him that though!
He spent most of last year hopping from one field to the next as and when he felt the need - and when he saw me coming with his bowl he would jump the 3 fences back to me and trot over with a grin on his face! - this was post and rail!

He has to have 4ft plus leccy fencing now - he used to not jump wire but as some of you saw from the pic a few days ago - i think its safe to say he now does (badly, clearly!)

He has the wide electric tape to make it look more imposing too.

Aw VK - see thats what I'm worried about with the Boss Man too, I dont want him missing or mis-judging

sigh!

Sadly as he's on livery the leccy tape isn't an option, so hopefully we will work something out and find a small field to fence for him

sad thing is its only winter this applies for - he never bothers in summer!

COOL, more jumping for you then.... I once had a 12.3hh welsh pony who, in season, cleared a normal height fence and then a stallion fence, well over 4ft to go see the hannoverian stallion. It was a super foal.

Murphy jumps the 4ft electric fencing

. I also once saw him jumping double height stock fencing from a trot when he wanted to move fields, and apparently when he was with his old owner whilst she was field mastering she slowed him virtually to a walk at a 5 bar gate, intending to open it for the field, and he popped over it.
