Well this year I decided that I'm going to fertilise some of our paddocks so there will be more grass for me 3 (soon to be 4) horses, so any suggestions on a good fertiliser?
Thanks :D

If you are wise, you will spend a little money getting your soil analysed first or you could be wasting the fertiliser which, these days, is very expensive! A close farming neighbour might be able to advise about any trace element deficiencies in your area.

Also, if you've heaped your muck, after 12 months it will have heated and killed the worm eggs so you can safely put it back on your fields and it will make great fertiliser.

But a short answer to your question might be something like 1cwt of 20:10:10 per acre, but without the analysis, you'd be guessing! (That's what I did, got a poor crop, then discovered my land was short of sulphur to make the fertiliser work).

Had mine tested and it only cost about £20, which is nothing compared with the cost of fertiliser. In the end my soil needed liming in both paddocks but only one needed fertiliser.
