Hi, I have a small sectioned of piece of field that i grow for hay, but this year is just needs a little bit of a boost to help growth, last year we cut late due to it not being ready. I went to my local mole valley today and they said to use 15-15-15 fertilizer? Is this right and okay? Ive had a browse online but cant really find much. Any help would be appreciated, i have bought two bags but not spread them yet.

Sounds OK. 100kgs/acre for hay should give you a reasonable crop. I suggest you think ahead and arrange harvest long before you need to mow it.

I personally like 'potato' fertiliser - similar to above - it won't make your field glow in the dark but you don't really want that. Depending on your area the grass is quite behind in some parts of the country as it had a really dry spell while it was warm over Easter then has got wet but cold - our hay field is way behind.
