Well, it was very well organised at Valiants but the judges didn't like greys and didn't like anything that wasn't a thoroughbred or warmblood - a blood horse, in my terms - all the ones they picked out for the top ten looked the same; whether they were ponies or horses. Apart from the one traditional coloured that they put through and then didn't place in order to appear politically correct!! (IMHO) Kangaroo was very well behaved and we were home by 8pm so I'm not complaining really. Never mind, I had a lovely hack in the morning - and they need their eyes testing; not every nice horse looks like a thoroughbred and there were some less than perfect feet and legs that went through!! I still love her!

Not all Judges are the same. One GREY champion on Sunday was a 28 year old family horse. Reserve was a GREY Welsh A. Perhaps you went on the wrong day!! Better luck next year.

i was there on 23rd and in the riding club pony and horse the winners were greys. maybe the wrong day for you. not to sure on judging. wasnt bad but i would struggle with 25 in class. ground was very wet, people paying for stables didnt use them as was like a mud bath.nice place. i wasnt in the show though as have only done 3 shows for riding club.but will hopefully be there next year. oh and dont you have to be in a snaffle for riding club pony/horse as at everywhere i have been you have to be or u get sent out or the ring.but people were in doubles and pelhams?

What a super picture! I agree, surely the definition of "riding club" horse or pony is snaffle mouthed. The others should have at least lost marks for that. Never mind, that's showing for you! (Won't put me off for next year!)

I know what you mean Hornby

The last WHP I did we came 2nd, and we shouldn't have even got placed!

The pony was a phsycopathic nutter the whole time and almost killed a steward, yet we got placed above a lot of nicely moving well behaved ponies.

Im presuming it's because she's bay, flashy and the whole area knows that she has nimmerdor bloo.dlines
