As promised I said I'd keep updating about Torins outings and saturday seen us off to our first sj since august for team jumping.

Our team was entered in the 65cm and we went individually in the 75cm, mostly because Torin is still very green and as a worrier needs his confidence built. So we rocked up in all our festive finery, tinsel and specially customized boots courtesy of mother for Torin, and a fairy onesie for myself :)
Silly me pottered about walking the course leaving very little time to warm up a very fresh 17hh beast who was warily eyeing up the numerous children on 12.2hh's, 2 practice fences and away we went. Cue minor panic from the dinosaur (which he is fondly nicknamed by everyone that knows him) at the gold glittering christmas tree in the centre of the ring, bit of persuasion and we got going. We had the first fence, mostly because I stopped riding, he went NO and I said YES and we scrambled through it. We did manage to put that behind us and make it round with just the 4 faults, so with two team members clear and two on 4f we dropped one score to finish on 4 faults.
Pleasantly surprised that our team finished with a 3rd and even more surprising was my 3rd for our fancy dress efforts, pony pats all round!

Had a bit of a wait before our time for the next class so we popped him back on the box to learn to relax and take it all in.
Pulled him back off the lorry a while later and got on board, by this time the warm up was over run by small ponies flying everywhere which really upset him. Waited until it got slightly quieter, popped a few fences and was called in.
Imagine my horror when I discovered they had brought out all the fillers and planks and used them at nearly every fence with added santa's and tinsel for extra spookiness, apparently the rider was more fussed than said horse. Off we went, I remembered to ride, Torin was more confident and really taking me into fences, we had a silly 8 faults but mostly I'm just super pleased with how he went!
I'm afraid I have no pictures to show yet as i wont receive my order for another week due to the time of year, potentially off to some showcross after christmas, if not we're back out jumping in january

Needs pictorial proof though

Sounds like fun. Good luck for January. Still sniggering at the fairy onesie though :biggrin3:

I wasn't amused walking around the venue in a fluffy onesie with a pink tutu on it lol apologies that the pic is low quality and at a bad angle hopefully i can update this post once I've received my images from the photographer :)
