We have a very elderly ID/TB who is injuring the front of his fetlock joints getting up in the field. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect his legs without hampering the mobility of those joints?
Thanks so much for replying. His main problem is that in getting up, he damages the skin on his fetlocks. We are bathing them with warm lightly salted and then applying Sudocreme which helps keep them clean and fly free. I will investigate tubi grips for him.Mudfever socks??? I was thinking along the lines of tubi grips for humans….something soft and flexible but supportive??
Thanks so much for replying. His main problem is that in getting up, he damages the skin on his fetlocks. Unfortunately the rubber surface might not be soft enough to protect his fetlocks from injury. Thanks again for your interest.Would rubber overreach boots velcro-ed on ABOVE the fetlock joint work? Unconventional perhaps but who cares.
