I am selling my Stubben Siegfried MF Special saddle, its 18 inch, size 31. In good condition, no scratches etc but used for a couple of years. Tree checked and all is good there.
What do you reckon is a fair price to ask for this?

Also looking at new saddles to replace this one as he appears to go better in a close contact saddle instead (tried an Equipe Expression on him 17.5 inch). He is 17.2 middle weight, 6 yr old, still a tiny bit croup high.

So can you give me the pro's and con's of new saddles. Looking to try some of the Pessoa CC jumping saddles, the Equipe Expression and Synergy and get them professionally fitted but would just like a bit of user knowledge on these saddles as i find the Stubben extremely comfortable and very well made saddle.

I know eventually this will come down to personal preference when i try and ride in a few of them but just looking for any pitfalls with any of these saddles:

The two equipes are identical, just with different finishes. I personally love my equipe and know a lot of people with then whose horses all love them :)

I can't comment on what might fit, though obviously that is the crucial question, as I don't know the saddles. What I will say is that it really doesn't matter how amazing the saddle is if the fitting isn't up to scratch - do the saddles you've selected have good, recommended fitters that cover your area? I always recommend going with a good fitter in most instances, and using whatever brand(s) they recommend, than trying to search out certain brands which so often backfires.

I've been a fan of Pessoa saddles for a while because they fit me really really well (so this is probably biased), but I have to say that I am a HUGE fan of their new Legacy saddles. I've got the XP3 (I think) and its just such a high quality saddle, lovely soft leather, soft panels underneath without letting the saddle to sink down more than it should.

I'm currently using mine on two horses because the x-change system takes me 5 minutes to do and doesn't leave me with sore hands like every other changeable gullet saddle, and I can't afford to get my horse who's just coming back into work a new saddle until the new year.

Although it can have the gullet changed it you wouldn't know it in quality - it isn't made for the fact that it can be changed, rather for convenience. I won't need a different jumping saddle for a long long time. I will be looking for another one in January (hint if anyone's selling ;) (in 17") ). Def try one if you can.
