There's a double bridle on ebay that I like and it's from FSS brand and I was just wondering whether any one has any opinions or experiences with this make...

Here's their website
http://www.fs-saddlery.co.uk/comersus/store/comersus_index.asp

It's £80 the bridle I want (not on the website though) and it looks smart, and obvs it isn't cheap but again it's not a breath taking amount to spend, I just want a smart black double bridle for home use/warming up at shows and also for dressage comps...

Just wondered as I said whether anyone has any bridles/tack for them and what the quality is like

thankies

I've got one of their doubles and a few other bits and pieces and they aren't bad quality. I don't clean or condition my tack enough and mine has lasted well.

I have purchased a grackle noseband and one of their swarovski browbands and both seem to be of good quality. No complaints! With FFS (Saddlery4U) on eBay, they seem to have a lot of auctions, so you might be able to pick up the bridle cheaper?

I bought one 3 years ago when I got my horse - I hadn't owned a horse for years and had nothing so had to stock up quickly.

It was a saddlery4u one and cost about £40.

3 years later it's still going strong and looks smart. I swapped the dressage reins that came with it for rubber covered for day to day riding and just use them for competitions.

Only thing I regret was that at the end of the auction you had the option to choose various options one of which was it a double or not. I should have said double as the bridle I have has has the slot to convert so i would have got the headslip for the curb and an extra pair of reins for nothing.

I have one of their bridles and love it! I DID buy the double although I only use it as a snaffle at the min. I have tried it on as both and the double fitted really nicely, which isn't easy it seems on Dan's odd little head :p

I have bought a few pairs of the non stretch stirrup leathers from them and I have not had a problem.

then i think you were lucky. their quality is marginal but really its their customer service that scares me. they are ruthless, always have been. for $25 they will fight you to the ends of the earth. i was overseas for a while and bought a brush, they didn't bubble wrap it or even put it in an envelope. they sent it in a grey UPS plastic mailer (and they sent it by mail, not by UPS) and it arrived cracked. knowing i was overseas and knowing it would cost me more to return it than i paid for it, they made me send it back signature required. and i did it. and when they got it, they told ebay i purposely broke it, then they told ebay it wasn't the same brush. and the dispute was still resolved in my favor and they turned around and opened it up again..... all over $25. and i lost all my money just returning it and they still fought it. they really are ruthless. there are so many wonderful sellers out there. why buy from people that have even a hint of impropriety? go to a good seller, someone that doesn't have their own thread!

Bought a bridle from them for my mum about a year ago now, it still looks good, I don't think it's stretched and we haven't exactly cleaned it after every use. The noseband bit of the crank is perhaps a bit rough along the edges now, but it's far better than a JW bridle I bought and that has pretty much fallen apart. I intend to buy from them again soon, hopefully. Because of the price I'm happy for them to only last a year or two.

Ive had 2 bridles from them, 1 new for my old horse and I found a 2nd hand one on ebay for my new, much chunkier horse. Both have been good bridles, no issues with either and they still look good, 1 after 4 years use. Cant speak for their after sales service as havent needed it!
