Just wondered if anyone knew if the fiat scudo can tow a trailer.
I have looked at all the towing 'numbers' on the van but I don't get what they mean??
The van tows my mums caravan easily, but obviously that is different to a caravan.
Thanks
Nickie

I have to go and look up what a scudo is.

You have just given me horror visions of a very small car towing a trailer.

Towing weight is 1950kg, so you would need a very lightweight trailer. Trailer and horse/pony should not exceed the 1950, so you could do it if you looked at something like the cheval liberte (or similar). You would need to down rate the trailer, or choose a model such as the mare and foal which has a lower max towing weight (1650kg I think). So, in theory it's possible, but you are going to be severely limiting your choice of trailer and you'll have to be careful that you don't go over the max. It would also depend on who's driving and whether they've got B+E on their license.

Also bear in mind as far a vosa officers are concerned they won't have weighbridges at all stops therefore they will go off the plated laden weight on your trailer to compare to the towing capacity of the car/van so look at the fully laden weight of the trailer (which should not exceed 1950Kg), not what weight you are actually going to put in it on that day.
