Has/does anyone feed Fibre Beet to their horse(s)?

I'm considering changing my horse from just plain Chaff to Alfa-A to be fed with Competition Mix and Sugar Beet shreds. I'm just wondering, would/does feeding Fibre Beet (which contains AlfAlfa) produce the same/similar result than if I fed Alfa-A and Sugar Beet?

Thankyou

I found it good to use but personally I ve found it best when used alongside a pencil as it all mulches down and seems to be easily digestable. I soak 1/2 scoop dry which eventually ends up at about 1 1/2 scoops wet whcih is split between two feeds. I prefer it to alfa beet whcih seems to take ages to soak whereas fibrebeet actually does it in the time that it says on the bag.

I've not used Fibre Beet, but have used AlfaBeet which is similar. I found it a good alternative to straight alfafa and beet and for me it worked out cheaper than feeding Alfa A and Speedibeet.

Agree with the above poster that AlfaBeet takes longer to soak than indicated on the bag!

I think you'd need to feed massive quantities of it to get the same result as alfa a and beet - though I could be wrong...

We used to feed it to our oldie to help keep weight on him and it did this fine (he wouldn't eat any of the Dengie alfa range or fibre pencils or chaff). It's not very high in energy and is low in starch and suitable for fatties and laminitics as a partial fibre replacement.

I don't understand why either. Fibrebeet is quite energy dense so can't see how you'd need to feed a huge amount more?

I've been feeding it to my new boy with good results!
I got him on 12th July looking quite skinny but shiny. (Was being fed 3 feeds a day to get weight on by dealer I got him from, he was poorer when she got him)
He has been on 2 feeds a day of 1 scoop pony nuts, 1 scoop happy hoof, 1 scoop (Soaked) fibre beet, seaweed and garlic.
See the results..

I think he's put a lot on, he's only being broken in so the workload is low, but I've also been using it for other horse and he is looking as good as he has in a while too! I will definitely be carrying on with it over the winter!
