Fibre question

Is my 3 rising 4 mare getting enough fibre or do I need to add more?

Im feeding her on Suregrow, Speedi beet and chaff I also add garlic granules, oil and codlive supplement (orange lid)

Well we need more info that just that.

Weight of your horse and weight of feed (dry matter basis)

Horses (and ponies) need between 1.5-3% of their weight in dry matter fibre (chaff, hay, grass, beet etc).

She should be getting her fibre from hay/ haylage or grass the amount given in the bucket feed is negligible really in the overall quantity required, adlib access to forage is the best way to ensure they have enough.

I would not be giving her garlic, it can cause problems in the gut as it is a toxin, I would think the suregrow is sufficient in vits/ mins without needing codlivine, if you want something to give her a nice coat consider micronised linseed instead.

I've used garlic for the past 20 years so ill finish my tubs of garlic and Codlevine, I love the sound of saving money

Forgot to mention she is on grass and still has growing and filling out to do. Where can I buy micronised linseed from, can I use veg oil?
