What feeds are good for fibre / weight maintenance without fizziness.

I did habe my pony on fibrebeet which is great - but he is now at a yard where we have a rota for feeding and we all make our feeds up and leave them out - so I can't add the fibre beet in advance.

I can still feed it to him on the days I feed - but wondered if there was an alternative?

I can't feed my highly excitable chap anything remotely heating, otherwise he becomes an idiot to even handle on the ground let alone sit on!

He's a poor doer and is currently doing really well on Dengie Healthy Hooves, High Fibre nuts and good quality ad-lib hay.

Admittedly, it helps that he is fed 3/4 times a day - but could you increase the amount of times you feed?

Why can you not make the Fibrebeet up in the evening and jsut add it to his morning feed yourself the night before?

ETA: I also feed linseed oil as well, in every feed.

alfalfa products are high fibre and low starch and good for keeping condition on, especially if you go for one with oil on.

you would need to add a feed balancer tho if you weren't feeding hard feed as well.

sugarbeet (esp speedibeet as its not molassed) is a good source of fibre too.

ETA
can you leave him with a big bucket of fibre beet, alfabeet or sugar beet overnight? as well as his hay... or, as someone else suggested, just add it the night before, it won't do any harm to the feed.
