First winter with new fields and it's obvious that there is a natural route for the water flowing off land a bit higher than mine which goes diagonally across my fields to the ditch.
It's done this for a long time because there's a 200yo well on that stretch which is brimming.
Has anyone recently had land drains put in? Are the ones where they mole under the surface any good or is it better to open up a ditch, lay pipe to main ditch and close up again? I'd just like it to get all the water down to the main ditch a bit quicker.
