At my yard there's a huge field that people use for a few hours turnout a day during winter and seprate fields for summertime.

They're just about to move into the summer fields now and the assignment is slightly different to the one from last year...

My pony is in his normal field with five others but not his normal mate. This nice steady cob is safe enough to lead down with my mental boy so he has company because I go down before school and it's much earlier than anybody else in my field (the horses are fed at the crack of dawn by y/o and most people are 'ladies of leisure') I'm also doing nice steady cob a few days a week when his sharer isn't down because the owner has just had a baby (all together aw...) so would be a lot easier for me if they were both in the field for putting out/bringing in and making sure they both have a friend out.

So should I ask bob the cobs owner to have a word with y/o to change the fields around? Or am I being dramatic and should just deal with it? I'm just a bit worried about ponio having no friend out with him

Ask the YO your self, just be polite and explain the situation. Assuming they both get on then theres no reason that they couldnt be paired together for summer then I'm sure YO will consider it.

Yes I would ask., I know how much of a pain it is if u have no other horse to turn out with & to know is with ur boy incase he's last one out.. If u don't ask u don't get!!
