I have recently bought some field grass mats from our local school. they are like new.
I was wondering, do you just place them in the field gateway to prevent poaching? Do you tie wrap them together? Im not sure what the correct way the use them is.
Any pointers most welcome!

They need to be tied together with cable ties to stop them moving apart.
If the field is dry and the area is not in a dip then they should grass through in the spring.
If the area is in a dip it will need to be raised up .
I have used them and find them good if not laid in a hollow that will retain water and also if allowed to grass through.
Cable tying helps to stop them moving .I used plenty of ties to secure them.

Did they not come with special clips? Mine did, extremely neat, tidy and secure.

I think these were not brand new
Mine were purchased new the firm I bought mine off did supply clips but suggested cable ties as added security.

No clips. They were what they used in the playground at school. Exactly the same mats. like new, paid £25 for about 30 mats, although a few (about 5) have been cut out. I thought that was a fairly good price. OH has plenty of tie wraps in his shed so I will try and get them down before the weather turns.
