Hi all,

I've just checked on my horses and noticed that one of them is scouring. Really runny. Like cow pats. Sorry if you're eating your tea!

Anyway, they are both good doers and are in a well managed (ie no ragwort etc) small taped off paddock to limit their grass intake. Both are good doers - one a connemara and one is a cob. Not a bare paddock, just short grass. Probably about and acre and a half area.

Nothing has changed in their management at all. I'm just wonding why one of them is scouring.

Is it just 'september' grass?

Can you help?

thanks

Should say that they both look fine, shiny coats, no runny noses etc. They don't appear under the weather or ill, and both have a good condition. not underweight or anything.

And poos were fine yesterday and this morning when I checked them.

thanks

My mare is the same and I like you am concerned. She has just been wormed so I was thinking of getting some probiotic to see if it would help.

Think with all the rain and warm weather it's the grass rushing :(

I'd agree, with the recent rain, the nutrient content of the grass will be changing, as long as your worming is upto date, i'd just give them a course of pro-biotics like pink powder or add some live yoghurt to their feed. Should sort itself out pretty quickly.
