As promised some photos the before ones are not great i am afraid but you can see the jist. The field shelter had no hard flooring so was horrible and muddy in there for her, not front on it being in a field shelter

anyhow dad did the entire change from a field shelter to stable hiself, put a 5 bar gate on with kick boards and a concrete pad :D saved ourself a good £200, has lights aswell and a hard standing outside and bear is loving it...

Love it! Having a handyman dad around is always useful, especially when horses are concerned! :p

It really is his reply to this was

" Bloody money pit" :D

He loves her really though ;) And she seemed more than happy to have her stable up and running.

That looks great now. It will be easier to clean etc and much nicer for your horse.

Whilst your dad is on a roll putting an overhang at front will stop any driving rain going into the shelter. But perhaps that may be pushing your luck for the time being. Dont want to spoil your dads enthusiasm!

He is crippled and walking like gollem off Lord of The Rings.. maybe next weekend ;)

Thank you for the tip though :D will inform him later in the week when he is able to move :o

Buy your Dad something nice, my OH is very good at making things around stables for me, so have to say thanks with a bottle of wiskey every now and again!

Hope you enjoy the dry and being able to shut the door when you want! Hard standing makes such a difference as well.
