Hi

I've been trawling through internet this afternoon looking for a garlic lick suitable for a lami pony.

Our little treasure is on box rest atm so we need to alieviate some boredom also the flies are begining to irritate her.

Does anyone know/use one of these. I'm sure my mare will appreciate it.

I believe there's one out there thats the Laminshield lick - though I don't think it's got garlic in it, just good for laminitics

Get an old wellie and hang it up in the stable and every now and then paint some marmite on it; keeps them busy for hours chasing it round although they do tend to get sticky faces! I also use honey sometimes, and a bit of molasses (these aren't for the lami pony tho). You can get pureed garlic in a tube - how about making a mix up with nice sticky things in and perhaps some mushed up lami nuts or similar and then splodge that on...just a thought.! I cut holes in the wellie toes and put some lami nuts in, or carrot pieces for the horses, and they trickle out over time as the wellie nudged about. On another note, I got a stable mirror when my pony was on 8 weeks box rest and she loved it. We positioned it so that she could see movement etc around the yard from where she was resting.

Good luck with the pony x
