mrchives - try the notice board in Pullfords but watch out for the yard Henham/Elsenham - its on and off the board very regularly! 
There was grazing at Dunmow Park advertised but no stables.
Herts & Essex Observer is another good place to try - yards are advertised under classified/livestock on their webpages.

Im not worried about stables tooo much. Where is the ad for dunmow park? As i am in dunmow

Its on the by-pass going towards Braintree. There is usually a notice offering grazing in the field on the left. There are fields off the Flitch Way that used to have horses in. There is also a farm just outside Dunmow on the Ongar road - go over the A120 towards High Roding and at the first sharp bends look to your right; they have a small menage, fields and stables.
