Urgh some people are unbelievable!

The long and short of this is that a month ago today, my friend and I picked up our foals. We took them to the place my friend lives as the owner said we could keep the foals there no problem. However, a lady there kicked up a stink claiming she was the yard manager now that the owner had moved away and we should have told her...all well if she had bothered to tell us she was the yard manager because nobody else had! She got very shirty and we ended up ringing the owner to clarify the situation; who said she knew the foals were coming and it was fine to put them in the field we were already using prior to their arrival. Well this b**** started s**t stirring and causing a lot of trouble for us (including blocking the foals water) and then went and told the owner that we had said we were keeping the foals elsewhere - which we had never done. It all ended up with us not being allowed to keep the foals were they were and the owner claiming she didnt know they were coming...a complete contradiction from what she told us on the phone. She then said she had 11 acres we could put the foals on. We tried looking for other land but as we had to be moved by today, we had to take the foals to the 11 acres, which we spent all week trying to find and without success. We eventually got there today, to find there is no water supply, BARBED WIRE fencing - which is so low in places the foals would escape. It has no cover either. We also found out that in the last few days she has sold half the land to another person who decided he was going to do a bonfire and fireworks tonight - next to the foals. A lady who has horses next to this field has let us use her paddock for a few days but we're stuck. It seems no where has grass livery, or just a field to rent. Friend's other half has said he will pay for a field shelter and for the field to be post and railed but as I said - surely that is the responsibility of the owner? How can we be expected to pay for that when we lose the value and she gains it for doing sod all?

I am so annoyed. This woman has never behaved like this before now and we're afraid that given this change in character, she may decide one day that the foals can't stay in this field either - if we decide to stay and pay for the fencing etc. Feel really down about it atm and I'm angry that its ruining our downtie with the foals.

If you got this far well done! So I guess I'm kinda askig if anyone knows of any grass livery in High Wycombe, near Prestwood, that kind of area, we desparately need to get permanently settled and 3 little foals will be very appreciative if HHO can help at all!

Thanks

I would go around a few farmers and see if they have any rough fields that would do you in the meantime. Pity you werent in Northern Ireland as ive just started renting 42 acres and your lot would be welcome to join my lot that im wintering off.

If you have to stay there then see if you can get hold of electric fencing at least you can take that with you if you leave. Otherwise contact local tack shops/feed merchants they very often carry ads. Try to get something in writing regards length of lease, etc, rather then dealing with telephone calls.

pm me dandy with your email addy etc , my sister lives in speen , runs a livery yard , she doesnt have anything suitable for foals i,m sure but she knows absolutely everyone in area lol i,m sure she,ll help if she can
