iv found when in practice that weimeraners are either a) gigantic mental wimps or b) really aggressive!!

We have some which are mental and bounce round the consult room and then quiver when you try to exmaine them and we have some that lunge at the vet as soon as they come through the door!!!

But they are beautiful looking dogs and I do know some which are just amazing!!!

there has been a change in the nature of this breed over the years. There has been an increase of aggressive ones. i can only assume that the breeders have been breeding for conformation for the show ring and not paying enough attention to temperament.
Of course there are still the lovely natured ones and these 2 don't really look like they are going to attack each other for real. more a bit of a show or they wouldn't be lying down.

If you'd seen my two at the beach today you'd have thought they were going to tear lumps out of each other but vocalising and showing teeth is all part of play for young dogs.
My fella was just getting frustrated with his silly sister, she is always trying to bodyslam him

I do agree with CNM to a certain extent, I am meeting lots of bolshier types of these dogs (pointing breeds) but there are good and bad in every breed

My Collie x Greyhound wrinkles up her nose and shows her teeth like that when she gets fed up with the other dogs annoying her over treats. Admittedly I don't take her as seriously as I would take a Weimeraner doing the same :P.

Thats interesting! I grew up with Great Danes but we decided to get a smaller breed when our last Dane passed away and i've always loved Weimaraners. They are brother and sister so have the usual arguements. It never gets too aggressive. Jasper is all vocal and just intimidates Milly so she backs away from the toy. She will rarely be stubborn and thats when a bit of a snap at each other might happen. Five minutes later when the toys are taken off them they will be laying next to each other!

They are nutters. Milly is nervous of strangers though so i'd call her a wimp.

we have a sibereian husky who is the worlds biggest wimp yet so many people are afraid of her because she "talks" the whole time in growls, howls, grumbling noises (they do not bark like most dogs).

mind you i would never want to get between her & someone threatening the kids (as she adores my toddler's)
