So, it was my birthday yesterday!!
We went off to Holkam beach...
We've been on plenty of riding holidays in our younger years but I've never taken my own horse. And with Fig being my one in a million it was always something I wanted to do ❤
Fig has been really super out hacking recently. I never have to worry about him lawn darting me, or napping. He just gets his knickers in a twist! And then I worry he's not had fun!
Pleased to say he was the MAN. Absolutely the bees knees.
Water = ok
Foam = not ok
My number one rule with any fast work for him is that I never ask him to go faster. I let him set the speed. If he wants to really put his foot down, that's cool. If he only wants to go halfway, that's fine with me.
We had a good two gallops, a play in the water and then a canter back down again ❤
PS got talking to a local couple who said they loved our colour coordination and that Fig was the smartest horse on the beach!
Fig chilled in the lorry after a good wash, and we watched him snooze from a local pub car park whilst we enjoyed the biggest burger EVER.
Perfect day!
