(It’s always going to be the Hennessy to me 🤣)

I was hoping to go to Newbury tomorrow but sadly I’m not well enough at the moment, so I’ll be spending the day on the sofa instead!

Looking forward to see Sir Gino and Mystical Power going head to head in the Fighting Fifth and also Victtorino in the Hennessy Gold Cup.

Never sure about Venetia. She comes over as quite hard.

Bless Nicky, I think he referred to Sir Gino as "that" and "it" (shock horror) a couple of times in the interview but I don't think of him unemotional.

I’d rather Venetia as a trainer, less tears every five minutes (Nicky) and more pragmatic. I’ve never thought of her as hard. I’ve never met her IRL mind.

Was it always a handicap back in the Henessey days (@photo_jo might know?)? It's interesting how the graded company horses never seem to run in handicaps these days. You wouldn't see a horse of the calibre of Denman run in one now.

Stage Star was entered. I know he’s not a Denman but he’s graded. Equally I note that he didn’t run 😆

Always a handicap as far as I know - Arkle got beaten a length by Stalbridge Colonist giving him 35lbs (before my time!).

I was lucky enough to visit her yard with Elite Racing a few years ago. A beautiful valley location and the wettest ground imaginable. Her horses go out everyday and I felt for her grooms watching them bringing in absolutely plastered horses. They do a lot of swimming and galloping uphill. It was an interesting day and seemed a happy set up.

I’m so delighted to be near Jane Williams who does the same. Horses treated like horses!

It will be interesting to see where Sir Gino goes next, I can’t see him running in the Christmas Hurdle if CH is back. I wonder if they will send him chasing this year or keep him over hurdles for another season.

Very very good from Lossiemouth. When I saw Paul still lifting his hands with 3 to go I was pretty optimistic. He never even picked his stick up! She looks a lot stronger this term too. Nice!

She is a different class as hopefully is Caldwell Potter, it’s been a day of the flying greys!

Just caught up on Lossiemouth’s win, very nice! She’s such a gorgeous horse as well, I always think she has quite a refined head for a NH horse.
I just noticed that Mick Easterby had a half brother to Lossiemouth who ran once and had a rating of 36! :p
