Hi

I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice.
My lightweight IDx has one foreleg that fills up sporadically on the inside of the cannon bone. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to indicate the cause. Its sometimes up in the morning after being stabled all night, sometimes after a days turnout and sometimes not for a few days. There is never any heat, lameness or pain.
He is currently grazed on a fairly steep bank. Could this be a factor?
Any ideas?

My TBx had this for a while last year but he had it in both back legs. The vet said he was sound and there were no problems so I soaked some gamgee in cold water and bandaged it for a hour then took them off and put stable bandages on. stopped doing it when he lived out all the time and touch wood he hasn't had it this year since he's been coming in again.

Hope you can figure it out!! (Sorry, aware this isn't massively helpful!)

Our new mare had same turned out to be tiny little cut that turned into mud fever check his legs thoroughly for small graze. She was sound but is now on antibiotics as scabs healed but infection set in.The first scrape was smaller than my little finger nail and very hard to find under all the hair.

If the horse stands sideways the same way all the time he could be putting more weight down one front leg.
Could it be a splint forming or still active?

Hi,
The best thing & cheapest is CIDER VINEGAR E1.95 (Don Carlos) The reason why I have this in capitals is look very carefully at the label as I got the wrong one
The Cider Vinegar Cleanses the blood - try it in his feed or in water.

Swelling will be gone within days!

Tried & tested & works brill.
Ps If your horse is stabled for a long time make sure to walk him & to do stretches!

Plz let me know how you got on
