Zak has always got filled legs in the stable by the morning, but is their anything to help this?Once he starts walking they deflate but it must be quite uncomfortable in the night? He is very stiff on them in the morning, and doesnt like them to be picked up if he hasnt been walked around

You need to turn him out more in the daytime and ensure he has stable bangages at night. Also worth seeing the vet if that doesnt improve things

I had the same problem when my mare was on box rest and also if she stands in too much. I stabled bandaged her and cut her feed down hugely when on box rest. She seems fine now, even though she is in foal, but she is only in from about 5pm to 7am at the most.

I would talk to your vet. How old is he?

He is 14, nearly 15 and has done a lot so not surprising really. I did talk to my vet but she said it was nothing, that it just happens to some horses. He is ridden every day and then put out for a good 6 hours.

Joint hte club my mare does it all the time, can go for days being fine than have fat legs in front for a week.
She has bandages on make sure she gets some good work and a mooch in the field and she is fine.
If they go down with work not to worry just where they are stood in.

Equilibrium magnetic chaps.....

My elderly gent (20) has legs the size of tree trunks and since wearing these has not had a problem at all.... Highly recommended!

my girls legs tend to fill up thro' the night. I bought her the thermatex wraps, easier to put on than bandages and keep her legs cozy thro the night. hey presto, normal sized legs in the morning.
ps, had the equilibrium stable chaps before but found that the velcro quickly became unsticky. Love the thermatex ones. got them from www.4dobbin.co.uk
