Filming schooling sssions

I'm looking for a camer to record my rides so we can document our progress. I used to use my phone but the one I have now won't record for more than 5 minutes.

Has anyone used it or have any others that are a similar price they would recommend?

I have a couple of the cheapy action cams off amazon. The closer the angle of capture to 180 degrees the better. Depending on the size of the arena, you may want 2 set at opposite ends of the arena. I don't use the plastic case or stand I just sit them on a ski sock stuffed with rice grains for a stand. They generally seem to record about 90 minutes total in 3 minute bursts on a full battery. You probably don't need a waterproof one.

I have done, they do a job but they are more for learning from than actually great to look at. You can only really see much that is quite close as the wide angle makes you look further away. Mine did about 90 minutes too.

The 4K one doesn't really record in 4K for action, as you are better then with more frames er second and less detail, but it is still better then the lower quality. With the 4K camera, I could then crop in on the computer for a more usable recording.

I bought an Akaso from Amazon, and I love it. I mount it to my chest for fun rides etc, the camera quality is really good for the size and price

I bought one, but then had mum issues, was stressed and never got round to making it work. There is a thread on here though where people have posted (successful) videos!

It doesn't have to be an action camera, I used my selfie camera last year so the quality of that wasn't great and could only really see the middle of the school clearly

I used to use my phone but I’ve broken the one with storage and a goodish camera. I’m also riding a horse who is a little more tricky and I’d rather have my phone in my pocket, just in case! As where I have to leave it to film I can’t access easily from the arena
