Hello! I am competing my grey mare this season and am really struggling with stable stains. she is a filthy mare and is constantly stained with muck each morning, especially under her tummy where the mud does not cover.

I have tried special shampoos and washing powder but she has permanent stains now! I have been told about a dirt buster rug which covers them under the tummy as well as the body and neck. Does anyone have one of these rugs or know where they are reasonably priced?

thanks

I don't know about the rug but to get the stains off her try 'Swarfega'. Rub it in leave it for a few minutes & wash it off. It should get them out...after all it's used by mechanics & engineers to get dirty oil & greas off their hands....& no it won't harm your horse.

Full lyrca suits from dress circle are good. My grey soon learned not to do it after having cold baths for three shows on the trot at 5am.
Also soda crystals are fab at getting stains out!

You must have my mare's long-lost twin sister... it's a nightmare isn't it! I think I have the easiest-to-bath 4yo in the country. I'm off out to buy some swarfega!
