Final Height Prediction

Hello, We've got a 20month old Shire Cross Welsh, currently standing at 14.3hh, Any Ideas on a final height?? He seems to be growing on a daily basis at present, hasn't really stopped since we turned him out last spring! His mom was around 15.3hh and Dad is around 17hh! Not that we're bothered how big he'll be, cos he's as gentle as a lamb!

My cob at 20 months was just under 14 hands and now is rising 4 and 15 hands - vet said about another 1" to go as he is still bum up.

I would expect your will be at least 16 hands and maybe up to 16.2.

I'd say somewhere around 16hh

a little trick- get a rope, measure from halfway up fetlock on front leg to point of shoulder, then flip rope backwards and up and it will measure to the exact point his withers will stop growing at. Hey presto, you know how big your horse will be! You can try this on a grown horse to prove it works. (well known vet taught me to do this and its never wrong)

sorry mean to top of point of elbow, the bony bit at the back of the fore leg at the top.
