Finally Caught Him!!!!!!!!!

Patience and hard work finally paid off tonight as i was able to catch Erik(my warmblood) for the first time in three weeks. The clicker training was fantastic and has completly changed my approach to catching him. It really paid off and it has made our bond even stronger than before and he has respect for me and my space. I couldn't believe it when i went to put it on, He just stood there as if to say ok i'm ready now. I was crying with happiness and achievement that something worked. Now the training plan can begin!

Hey well done you!!! Glad it all worked out! (if you don't mind my offering my unsolicited advice: next time you go out to him ask him to touch the headcollar with his nose, click and reward and walk away, just to make sure he knows he can do the behaviour easily and will get rewarded).

I would have had the vet out with a dart gun and kept that horse tied up forever therafter after week one! lol

serioulsy though...it is SO frustating isn't it?

I detest it when a horse willnot be caught.

I could really use a method with my mare as well. Spent an hour trying to get her tonight and gave up !

Must admit i didn't think i had that amount of patience but it finally paid off, I am soooooo relieved.
