The vet finally came to dope Ols (grey in sig) so I could clip him, after 2 months waiting for the vet to remember to call to the island (island life, for more than drugs or vaccines I use a horse clinic 4 hours away).

Well what a stress, vet turned up with 20 mins notice an hour before it got dark. My horse can be quite silly and hates the vet, the vet just rushed over to him grabbed his headcollar and did tried to set the shot, my horse had none of it ran backwards and reared and poor hubby got caught in crossfire and his glasses flew off and broke :-(.

Anyway I did the best that I could in the lack of light, just the big light on farm and a torch. Ollie was very hairy so first I used medium blades that have been used already then I went over with fine blades to tidy up.

His head did not go well, he was still lively about it after a big shot, so I am very sure it will look hideous and patchy. I own a tack shop and have some manual clippers, so I shall try those today for a tidy up attempt.

I am dreading looking at the clip in the light today, I bet there is so much we have missed. At least it is done finally :-)
