Had to succomb to fully sedating my 16.3hh Irish horse to have him clipped. At least it is done now!

Last year he was fine to clip. This year he just decided he didn't like it. He's a big boy and used his body weight and back legs to let us know he wasn't having any of it!

We tried a horse whispere, but that didn't make it better, and trying to get him used to it slowly bit by bit seemed to wind him up!

The vet's hopeful that we may be able to desensitide him with the sedation as he was completly relaxed, apart from his head area, at fisrt, but then stood completely still to do his head the second attempt. (they're still aware of things when sedated, and can use their adrenalin to get them out of a situation if they really want, even when fully sedated!

So, glad it worked! I was starting to think he'd necer be clipped safely again!!
