Some of you may know that I've been to'ing and fro'ing for months on which of the boys to sell. It's painfully obvious that Ty is with me for good as he's such a quirky sod.

So it leaves me no option other than to sell Oscar the wonder horse

I can't loan him as I'd need to money I make off him to pay some debts that my lovely ex left me.

Obviously can't go up for sale until he's back in work but stats are:

9 year old
16.1 Gelding
Good to box, shoe, hack out - needs a confident rider hacking on his own as he has been known to be a bit nappy, although I think we've cracked it now.
Turns his hoof to pretty much anything - loves jumping and was doing 4ft tracks easily before I brought him.
Does a lovely dressage test (when I'm not riding him

)
Can be naughty to catch but I've kept a leather headcollar on and he's fine.

I think he'd suit a competent teenager who wants to go out and win - he showjumped in ireland and the minute you get him in the ring he turns back into 'showjumper' mode putting in the most amazing turns etc - you just have to sit and steer!

I was going to ask £4500 with a brand new albion saddle, new mark todd bridle and a couple of rugs - does that sound fair?

I have two sharers for Ty but I guess I can't keep both and 'hope' that I'll have a never ending supply of sharers.

I'm completely gutted as he really is my dream pony. I guess there are other horses out there and in a couple of years I can try again and get sometihng that my OH can ride too.

I'm feeling sorry for myself but it's my fault I'm in debt, no one elses!

PS - if I got another sharer for £200 a month (he's on part) then I guess that would just about cover him. It's just a big lump sum to turn down if that's what he's worth!

It's not an option to have him on DIY as my job is just too full on....plus round my way, a decent DIY yard with bring in and turnout in winter and all hay, feed is about £80 off the monthly price of the yard I'm at now...and the YO is great.

I would rather he goes to a good home and fulfills his potential than put a silly price tag on - plus if he can be a bit nappy, I guess that's got to be reflected!

That's such a shame! Are you really sure you have to do this? I mean you have currently got 2 sharers for Ty so there is no hurry to do anything. (If I have understood correctly?) its just that when you have a horse of your dreams I think you should do everything possible to hang onto him.

From your earlier posts I know Tys loan didn't work out but there are nice loan homes out there. If 2 sharers enjoy him he can't be that bad is he? Sorry if I am meddling! If you really have to sell then you must...

He is lovely. My sort of horse! Although if you are realistically going to sell get a really good rider to do some schooling pics which show him using his back end better. Not saying you are not a good rider but if you get someone really good on him i reckon you will easily sell him. Am I just digging a bigger hole here! You know what I mean!!

You will easily get that for him especially with tack etc.

Dozzies - that was someone else riding him - to be fair she was only starting to warm him up and then I stopped taking photos. He took a while to warm up!

JM07 - yes he's a lovely horse and needed 2 weeks to the day to settle in to the new yard! He's hacking out on his own already and just had a few 'moment's when he returned when everything was just too much for him. If I could find a good long term loan home for Ty I would definately consider. He's great to hack but just needs someone who's confident on the ground when they first get him.

I hate being in this predicament!

why would you not consider selling Ty then???

can you pm me ALL details of him..either full loan scenario...also if you'd sell him...

i may know of a potential home.....

How about putting Ty on project horses website? Not saying he is a project per se but people looking there are expecting a few quirks. As a loan if you really don't feel comfortable selling. Right, now I will retreat back in my box and promise I won't say another word!

Good luck!

I think that £4500 is cheap. I'd ask that without the saddle and then try and sell that on top. Or ask £5k all in.

I know what you're saying but I don't think he really is a project horse - I'm just fed up fielding calls from muppetts and I have it in my head that he'll only settle with me, which is complete rubbish because he was fine in his last loan home!
