...managed to get out mounted today, first time since 23rd November!! Only went to do about an hour and a half, but ended up being out about 2 hours most of which was trotting about the edge of fields as we're still frozen in places up here.

I was expecting him to be really silly so rather than risk loosing car/house keys I left them in the trailer (which I hate doing), but he wasn't, and more annoyingly we ended up hanging about for 20 minutes about a mile from home  In the end we shot off back towards the boxes so I carried on about half an hour longer than I would have liked given his fitness and brought him home in the trailer.

It was good to be out again, even if it was a slightly odd day's hunting! Hounds we going well for their Tuesday huntsman and we did get to listen to them speaking in the forestry above us at one point which was lovely as it echoed about the valley. The field was a nice mix of the two hunts, with a good few kids out too, and everyone was in good spirits and pleased to be out again.

It's great to be out again isn't it? I had my first post-snow day on the 1st Jan; the horse was pretty feral with excitement but it was still great.. can't beat the old echoing hound music either :)
