And it feels very strange. Been here nearly nine years! Never lived anywhere for more than a couple of years

Looking to move to anywhere that we can afford a house with land. Totally open to suggestion :D. As I am a consultant we can live anywhere in the country.

We have four dogs, which is due to increase once we've moved(!!), two cats, three horses, two daughters, and at least a tonne of stuff (after de-cluttering) lol

Well I think Bedfordshire is a nice place(I live here) house with land Expensive or a little more up north. Norfolk use to be good but prices soaring there.

Where abouts are you now?

I think the SW is nice but I do live here myself, there is a lovely place for sale near me with quite a few acres, reltively new built house but has character a HUGE barn ideal for conversion to stables. I wish.....! :D

Well, we live between two properties...

One in West Cumbria (Smack bang in the middle of 'green belt' land) which is very expensive, and the other is in Northumberland (where the prices are pretty reasonable!) both are green and animal friendly :)

Realistically the cheapest places with land when we were looking were the Wisbech area of Cambridgeshire and Carmarthenshire. Discounted the Wisbech area because of the risk from rising sea levels. Would have considered Wales but no work for OH...

The house next door to me is about to go onto the market :D

Fingers crossed for you - we just sold our house after 2 weeks on the market, so things are starting to move! Every evening is now spent looking for somewhere to go - can't afford anything with land though :P Can't recommend somewhere though as we've lived in our house for 18 years!

Good luck!

Damn! I'm only slightly shy of the £8m needed for that one.... I wonder if they'd take an offer?:rolleyes:

C - you're just a wee puddytat :D

Everyone lives in expensive places lol

AD - I think we are looking in the same places lol

We've just bought a house in the New Forest....lovely area, would definately recommend it! Good luck with your move, hope its not too stressful....can't say i've enjoyed the process but its worth it in the end :)

I think as a general rule, the further north you go, the more affordable the housing. I like to window shop and it seems you can get alot for your money in and around Lincolnshire. Rural Scene and EA Equestrian have some nice houses for a reasonable budget. I'm working on my OH to persuade him what a good idea it would be to move up that way :D

Shropshire is really horsey and the land here is pretty good value for money - we bought our first home with land here :)

Well we are back on the market after our buyer puling out 2 days before exchanging. Due to them we lost another interested buyer.

We have had to walk away from our dream house :(

Reduced house price but not a sniff, no viewings or anything.

I am beyond gutted.

How exciting! Although it is making me wildly jealous- I have just had an offer accepted on a small three bed semi (it's nice though and in a nice area so shouldn't really complain. It's a perfect first house). Would kill to be able to afford somewhere with land though!! How much land are you looking for? I can recommend Cheshire as a nice place to live and full of horses... not sure about prices though!

Hope all goes smoothly and you find your perfect house with the required amount of land etc ASAP :D

Hm. Berkshire.

Hm.

I think we'd have to put the horses in the garden lol :D

QB - how exciting! House sounds lovely :D. Look forward to piccies when you get moved in :D :D :D. Have a celebratory hot chocolate with all the trimmings :D.

Thank you, don't mind if I do :D

I have a few bottles of virtual champagne (can't afford the real stuff any more- solicitor's and mortgage fees have eaten into the champagne fund ) chilling ready for when we have news of your new pad :D

Well depending on your budget, I know a property in West Yorks, with 13 acres and 4 bedrooms that has just gone on the market. Look at the 'I love living in Yorkshire' thread with pics if you need persuading.........

ETA, I thought you'd found somewhere a while ago, did I miss what happened to that?

Virtual champagne is great, you can still drive home afterward :D :D

I love Yorkshire :D. Spent most of my child/teenagerhood there in Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough :D. But, very unlikely to be able to afford the one you describe :(. £500k is probably the max for now :)

Mrs M:mad: I thought we have already established that you are moving next door to me and there is to be a giant school built between us.
Now, admittedly, the next door property is not for sale, neither has it a habitable house, but a murder could be arranged to get it on the market;)

LOL about sea levels when is it going under !!!!!??????

Sorry £650,000, which I didn't think was too bad for what there is available, it does have an arena.
