Finally!!! Just Put Our House on the Market

Well I for one am over the moon for you!!! Not jealous, not green, not envious! Not at all!!!

If you need a hand hunting, let me know! I just wish it was me... Hopefully in a years time. :D Seriously, if you need a hand, give me a spec and budget and I'll go ahunting for you... :D

Gotta content myself with renting... for now. :)

Just gotta find myself another house with land to rent... anyone...

Linc/suffolk/Norfolk/cambridgeshire are still reasonable but no hills.Good for dressage but not so good for eventing! West of Salisbury is quite reasonable too. Wales is good and N somerset is ok but a bit bland scenery wise iMO..

Scotland is really cheap but the weather is rubbish and the men have ginger beards and wear skirts and speak with funny accents whilst attached to bagpipes! ;) :D

I think Yorkshire is expensive tbh.It is pretty much on a par with Hampshire with far worse comms.

I think as a general rule, the further north you go, the more affordable the housing. I like to window shop and it seems you can get alot for your money in and around Lincolnshire. Rural Scene and EA Equestrian have some nice houses for a reasonable budget. I'm working on my OH to persuade him what a good idea it would be to move up that way :D

Oh me too.. as in all of the above but OH wont have it!

So, it's land and caravn in the dream pipe for me I think..!!!
x

And it feels very strange. Been here nearly nine years! Never lived anywhere for more than a couple of years

Looking to move to anywhere that we can afford a house with land. Totally open to suggestion :D. As I am a consultant we can live anywhere in the country.

We have four dogs, which is due to increase once we've moved(!!), two cats, three horses, two daughters, and at least a tonne of stuff (after de-cluttering) lol

I understand you get quite a lot for your money in Wales??

Or is money no object??:confused::p

I never object to money - rofl. Budget is £500k absolute max (or so I've been told.... and for that it has to have some other income potential).

Working to a deadline at the moment (ah, so that's what I should be doing rather than playing on here, I did wonder, lol). Will look at all your suggestions hopefully later this afternoon :D  :D

Oh, am so jealous x New Forest in Hampshire is fabulous as is anywhere along the South Downs, pretty much. We have it all, forests, beaches, bridleways galore ... come live down here with us x

MrsM.....you need to move to Yorkshire..

Also...if you could ensure you have extra space for an additional 2 adults, 2 children, 3 horses, 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, 1 (killer) rabbit and a large aquarium that would be ace.

Good luck with that:D

Rofl at the killer rabbit :eek::D

Hm. Not so sure about neighbouricide lol :D

Thank you for all your kind suggestions :D :D :D.

Sadly hubby is restricting the budget (he knows me far too well lol), so £500k if there is a business, and if not then it's £300k. I see his point, we have seen some lovely places for well within the lower budget, and I do want a lovely school and a lorry and another couple of horses and to retire in the next five years (at least from what I do now, there's lots of other things on the cards :D).

If you're really serious about anywhere in the country..... Aberdeenshire has loads of properties with land in your budget and there are horses everywhere up here. Try aspc.co.uk
Good luck with your search.

Whereabouts are you from?

Lincolnshire is very good value for money for Equestrian Properties. I know because I've been looking at houses for sale with land everyday lately because we are also moving but I haven't got as much choice as you because we are staying in Leicestershire. It's so annoying to see houses with loads of land, stables and even Indoor schools within our price range but in the wrong area!

FFM - thank you :D. Had a look on the site and there are a couple on there that would be good :D. D is not keen on the Scottish purchase system, but I'm sure we'll get over that :D

SSJ - fingers crossed for you!

errr... yorkshire! bit of a no brainer really! ;)

in fact, there's a nice property on pg 138 (not back inside page but one in, second ad down on the left hand side) of this weeks h&H. it's in bedale which is a lovely little market town with good a1 £595k, but they might take an offer!

Hope you have more luck than we're currently having. We live in a small village under the South Downs and are having real trouble getting anyone to come and look. OH is retiring and we want to make a little bit of money and move possibly to East Anglia/Cambridge/Lincoln.:(

I live in Devon which is lovely but expensive - i've been looking at Wales for years - you can get so much for your money there and if you go to Powys area there are a million and one more BE events within driving distance. I can work anywhere and OH is 1/2 keen so watch this space to!

I fancy a lovely small holding with land, stables and a barn to do mountain biking/riding/normal holidays and a small shop for mountain biking consumables and clothing and mail order...not that i've put much thought into it...really!

And back to earth with a bump! lol

Dear MrsM,
in order to save my lovely neighbour's life, I have decided to find you another property in close vicinity. I simply cannot imagine life without your hot choccy and my dearest donkey car is not up to long journeys any more.
If you would be so kind as to supply me with your exact requirements and list of possible business ventures you would be interested in pursuing, I will gladly be of assistance in finding the right abode.
Remember, my neighbour needs you.
yours truly
martlin

PS. If you could kindly offer me a new L key for my laptop, our communication would become much speedier:D
