So having had my boy for 8 months, I have never once in this time lunged him (appalling, I know!  ) until yesterday when it went a bit all over the place.
Picture a fat, ginger pony galloping round the lunge pen at full speed, with a few bucks chucked in for good measure. I did at one point also think he may jump the fence (I was free-schooling :D )
So after the disastrous first attempt I booked a lunge lesson for me and said fatty pony and it went wonderfully - apparently I'm too soft on the poor, wee man and need to toughen up - oops!
Here are a few token pictures, just because.
WARNING. I live in a Mediterranean so those of you with sun deprivation may faint at the sight of my sunny piccies. Those of you with poor dispositions may look away now ^_^

What a good idea to have a lunge lesson, a very competant friend recently had a lunge lesson with her dressage trainer, she couldn't believe the difference. Your poor boy will now have to start working rather than mucking about!

But what is that blue stuff at the top of your pictures?

I'm hoping it'll really help, especially as he's stiff to one side.

Regarding the blue stuff, it's a rare commodity in the UK called "clear, blue sky" it's generally found with another rare item called "the sun!" :D

well done, we had lunging issues aswell.
Loving the blue sky, one of the ladies on my yard has just moved back to the uk from Cyprus, she is missing the nice weather, so is her horse :)

I feel her pain! we (as in myself and the gingernut up there ^^) are moving to the UK in August - my boy has never seen snow so it shall be an experience!
