Finally something going right this week!!

Just had saddle fitter out and with a heavy heart I told him I'm guessing my trusty Thorowgood T4 Cob wasn't suitable anymore. He looked, said yes my horse should ideally be in a 16.5 inch seat but as I'm 5.7 that wouldn't work so the seat was fine. Just to confirm this he checked his back and said he's 100% fine and no sore points. Put the saddle on and he agreed it wasn't right...me thinking here we go the new saddle saga. To which he said 'wish they were all this easy' flipped saddle over, took off the girth straps moved them and popped saddle back on!! To my eye it looked better, I got on and OMG the difference was amazing!! Deeper seat, legs where they should be and perfect fit on my horse!!! So there was me expecting hundreds of pounds leaving me today and all it cost was the call out..which split between the other liveries was only £10!!!

Goes to show not everyone is out to fleece you!

I had kind of the same experience with a saddle fitter a few months ago when fitting my 3 year old TB. Was using a manky 16.5 synthetic on him for a few weeks just for hacking when my friend let me her 18'' thorowgood, which I personally thought may have been a tad too long. Called a saddle fitter out expecting to purchase a new saddle in which she tried on my friends thorowgood and low and behold it was an amazing fit !! She even said herself she wouldnt of made me buy one if she thought it wasnt a decent saddle.
I was shocked !! Haha, very few nice people out there x
